Call for papers for a special issue on:

Sustainability and resilience: The future of global health-oriented tourism

This special issue will provide a comprehensive overview of the philosophical, conceptual and managerial issues surrounding the sustainability and resilience of field of the health-oriented tourism including medical tourism, health tourism, spa tourism, wellness tourism, dental tourism, etc.. We will ensure that the contributors will be experts in their fields, and we are combining them to provide cutting edge analyses of the emergence and future of health tourism. This includes analyzing the definitions and concepts used in health and medical tourism from regional and national perspectives. Please refer to the attached for details of this special issue. 

 

Submission guidelines

  • Expressions of interests/extended abstracts: 30 November 2020.
  • Invitations to submit full papers: 31 December 2020.
  • Submit full papers: 31 March 2021.
  • Notification of final results: 30 September 2021.

 

Expressions of interest are welcome in the form of an extended abstract (700 to 800 words excluding references), to be sent to co-editors, Timothy Lee (This email address is being protected from spambots. Abstracts should include the title page with authorship list, author affiliation and contact information (including the email addresses of all authors) and keywords (four to six).

 

The International Journal of Tourism Research (IJTR) is listed in SSCI, Q1 in SJR, and A in ABDC (Australian Business Deans Council). 

 

IJTR was launched 22 years ago to provide a platform for research outputs that contribute to theory and methodology of tourism related topics of international relevance. It currently receives approximately 900 submissions a year of which just over 70 are accepted. The impact factor of IJTR is increased to 2.740 in 2020.
