Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing

Recently, the importance of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) has been recognized by various sectors, especially with the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs). Traditionally, ESG has been used as a tool to assess the firm’s financial health conditions for potential investors. However, ESG became an important strategic tool in setting specific missions and objectives to share their benefits with the community. Although various industry practitioners discussed ESG issues, there has been a paucity of research in the academic field to fully discuss ESGs as strategic tools.

The aim of this special issue is to present a compilation of cutting-edge research pertaining to ESG management and marketing issues as related to tourism and hospitality. Submissions are encouraged by a wide range of researchers and practitioners. Potential manuscripts for this special thematic issue may include, but are not limited to the following issues pertaining to tourism and hospitality:

  • Measurements of ESGs
  • ESG as a Strategic Management
  • Tourism Sustainability
  • Accessible Tourism
  • Dealing with Over Tourism
  • Diversity and Equality
  • Internal Marketing for Achieving SDGs
  • Social Marketing for ESGs and SDGs
  • Cross-Cultural Studies on ESGs
  • Community Support by Tourism
  • Waste Management and Marketing
  • Tourism for Hunger and Poverty
  • ESG in Global Retailing and Service Practices as Destination Marketing
  • Any other topics related to the theme of the special issue

Quality of research, relevance to the thematic issue of ESGs and/or SDGs strategies and marketing, and application of the research for professionals in the industry.
