About MTCON ‒ Conference on Managing Tourism Across Continents: MTCON’25 – Tourism for a Better World
The Conference on Managing Tourism Across Continents – Tourism for a Better World (MTCON) is organized annually by the Turkish Association of Tourism Academics (TUADER) in collaboration with leading universities. The conference aims to address contemporary tourism issues, foster scientific dialogue, and contribute to developing new theoretical and methodological perspectives.
The 6th Conference on Managing Tourism Across Continents – Tourism for a Better World (MTCON’25) will be held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from April 30 to May 3, 2025. MTCON’25 offers a unique platform for academia and industry professionals to share, exchange, and discuss the latest research in tourism and hospitality. The program will feature inspiring keynote panels, an opportunity to meet journal editors, informative workshops, conference paper presentations, and valuable networking sessions.
Participants can also look forward to a welcome reception, a gala, and social activities exploring the stunning attractions of Istanbul.

The conference brings in pre-conference workshops and optional post-conference networking opportunities and city tours. MTCON’25 will start with pre-conference workshops on Wednesday, followed by conference presentations on Thursday and Friday. Optional networking events and the city tour take place on Saturday.
Call for Submissions!
We invite authors to submit conceptual, empirical, and methodological contributions, as well as case studies on various tourism themes. Submissions can be based on completed research or work in progress.
MTCON’25 covers a wide range of contemporary topics relevant to research, education, and industry practices in hospitality, tourism, and related fields. Reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the conference, we welcome submissions from diverse disciplinary areas related to tourism and hospitality. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

We encourage submissions from scholars, industry practitioners, and educators who seek to contribute to advancing knowledge in these areas.

- Deadline for submission acceptance notifications: February 27, 2025 (March 14, 2025)

- Deadline for final paper (camera ready version) submissions March 31, 2025
MTCON’25 Policies and Submission Guidelines
- We welcome submissions (both completed and in progress research) from researches and graduate students (master and doctorate thesis both completed and proposal) on any hospitality and tourism-related topic. Interdisciplinary research is also encouraged. Please submit by the deadline on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
- The official language of the conference is English; all submissions and presentations must be in English.
- All submissions must be submitted using the MTCON’25 submissions template. The submissions should include the following sections: title, structured abstract (covering purpose, study design/methodology/approach, results, and originality/value), keywords, introduction, methodology, results (required for completed papers; optional for developing papers), and conclusion.
- The total word count should be up to approximately 800/1,000 words, excluding the structured abstract, figures, tables, and references for initiating the review process. We aim to streamline the initial process and make it more efficient for our reviewers, who generously volunteer their time, by requesting concise submissions from the authors.
- All submissions will undergo a rigorous double-blind review process.
- Please note we typically expect 4-5 pages single spaced document for final submissions to publish in the proceedings, but those preferring to publish only their structured abstracts may do so.
- Authors intending to use the conference proceedings as the final outlet for their work are welcome to submit their final papers up to 10 single spaced pages.
- At least one author of each accepted submission must register for MTCON’25 and present at the designated time in the conference program.
- Best Paper Awards will be presented during the conference, selected from submitted and presented extended abstracts.
- Accepted submissions will be published in the conference proceedings by WIRE (Wolverhampton Intellectual Repository and E-Theses) with an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN).
- Selected submissions may be considered for publication in leading book series and journals.
