The first call for papers: the 7th International Conference on Tourism Development in Vietnam
We are pleased to invite submissions for the 7th International Conference on Tourism Development in Vietnam, which will be held on August 1st and 2nd in Hue City, Vietnam. The Conference will be co-organized by the National Economics University, Hue University, and the UNESCO Office in Vietnam. The conference aims to create a forum for scholars from different academic fields to exchange and present their research in Tourism, Heritage, City, and Creativity.
TOPIC: We welcome theoretical and empirical papers on topics in tourism, leisure, heritage, cities, and creativity. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- Tourism and leisure management

VENUE: The conference will be held at Hue University, Hue City, Vietnam
Hue, located in central Vietnam, is rich in history and cultural heritage. As the former imperial capital of the Nguyen Dynasty, Hue owns historical landmarks, including the renowned Imperial City, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient city is home to majestic palaces, citadels, and royal tombs, such as those of King Minh Mang, King Khai Dinh and King Tu Duc, which offer a glimpse into Vietnam's feudal past. Hue is also celebrated for its vibrant cultural scene. The city hosts the annual Hue Festival, featuring traditional music, dance, and artistic heritage performances. Visitors can experience the elegance of Hue Royal Court Music, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. In addition to its historical and cultural attractions, Hue is famous for its unique cuisine. With its blend of historical depth, cultural richness, and natural beauty, Hue offers a captivating and enriching travel experience.
TENTATIVE PROGRAM
Day 1 (August 1, 2025):
Morning:
- Opening ceremony and welcome speech
- Session 1: Keynote speakers: UNESCO representative, a research scholar, a representative from Hue (Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center). Speakers will be confirmed and advised shortly
- Session 2: Panel discussion: Tourism Educator Network on Tourism, Heritage, City and Creativity
Afternoon:
- Session 3: Parallel presentations by authors
- Summary presentation (representative from the Organizing Committee)
- Closing ceremony
Day 2 (August 2, 2025): Field trips
SUBMISSION: Full papers must be in English with at least 3000 words, including the title of the paper, authors’ names, e-mail addresses and affiliations, abstract, references, figures, and tables. May 15th 2025: Deadline for full paper submission
June 30th 2025: Notification of acceptance and registration guidelines
July 5th 2025: Deadline for early-bird registration
July 15th 2025: Deadline for regular registration
REGISTRATION FEE: The registration fee includes a welcome reception gathering, a book of abstracts, a soft copy of proceedings, a presentation certificate, lunch, and tea breaks.
